Minimalist is a concept that often conjures neutral palettes, clean lines, and a specific absence of objects and elements. Color isn’t synonymous with the term but Danish brand HAY and Belgian designers Muller Van Severen are changing that with their Colour Cabinet collection, a series of floor-standing and wall-hanging cabinets that pair minimalism with the vibrancy and originality of color, proving that you actually can have it all.
The Colour Cabinet features a wooden cabinet body that’s been organically dyed in Valchromat. It’s an MDF material that is FSC-certified, which means that the wood has been ethnically harvested from the forest. For the floor-standing version, the cabinet is supported by a steel frame with slim legs. The collection is available in various sizes as well as colorways, both mono- and multi-color options. Optional sliding glass doors add a veil of privacy. Whether you need a single wall cupboard or a low media storage unit or a multi-shelf cabinet, the Colour Cabinet collection fits both residential and public spaces.
